What is AVON?Academic Video Online logo

AVON is an on-demand streaming database from Alexander Street Press that is curated for educational use. It includes documentaries, interviews, performances, newsreels, field recordings, commercials, raw footage, and more. The content is stable and should always be available to watch from year to year.

How do I use AVON?

Accessing AVON

There are a couple ways to get to AVON:

  1. Find AVON under Databases by Title
  2. On the Library's homepage, find the "Guides" section (located below Databases by Title) and click the plus sign next to "Help Guides" to expand the box. Click "Streaming" to be taken to the Streaming Guide. There, you will find a link to AVON on the front page.

After clicking the AVON link, type in your Purchase login credentials on the Database User Authentication screen. You may then start browsing the collection!
