Library patrons including current Purchase College students, commuter students, alumni and guests are welcome to use tables, chairs, and public computers in the Library's Group Study Zones to attend online courses. Recommended Group Study areas include...

  • The mezzanine (balcony) above the DMZ
  • Rooms 1015B and 1015C in the DMZ
  • The Music Collection
  • Classroom 1004B
  • Group Study Rooms 2001A and 2001B

There is additional seating throughout the first floor group study zone.

We ask that you be mindful of those studying around you and always use headphones. (Please bring your own; the Library does not have headphones to loan). Because verbal participation is often required and could get noisy, we ask that you do not attend synchronous zoom classes in Quiet or Silent Zones

You must adhere to campus-wide masking policies while in the Library. Currently, masks are optional. We have arranged tables and chairs throughout the Library for individual study, placing furniture next to outlets whenever possible. You need to reserve Group Study Rooms 2001A and 2001B via Roombook; however, there is no need to make a reservation to use other library spaces; library furniture and computers are available first come, first served.

If you do not have your own laptop or device, you are welcome to use the Library's public computers to take your class in the Reference Commons Lab, DMZ, or Lab 1004D. Again, please use your own headphones.

Please note that the Library is open to students, staff, and community guests; therefore, complete privacy/confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in online conversations held in our building, such as during telehealth appointments or virtual meetings of a confidential nature.
